We have all been to those fancy restaurants that serve asparagus as a side at an extreme up charge...usually it is just steamed with butter, totally bland. Let me show you the best way to make asparagus for you to enjoy with any meal! I will note that personally this is one food item I do not like to prep on Sundays, I just do not think it reheats well. This whole process is really quick so it doesn't create an issue during the week!
But for real, I have eaten is as a breakfast side....
Ingredients:
-Washed Asparagus spears with the ends cut off
-Salt
-Pepper
-Garlic salt
-Tbsp Olive oil or coconut oil
-Close fresh minced garlic
can you tell I really love garlic?
heat the oil over medium heat, add spears and let cook for 3 minutes. Add the spices and cook for about 3-4 more minutes depending on how done you like your vegetables. Cooking them longer allows the ends to become softer as those take longer to cook through. In the last 30ish seconds I thrown in the minced garlic just enough to brown it and then remove from heat.
Result, is perfectly cooked and slightly crisped garlic asparagus dreams! Oh yeah and it is super macro friendly!
